Shoujo Jidai had a good start with their Japanese career last year, as they racked up numerous awards and high chart rankings for their two singles, “GENIE” and “Gee“.
They’re preparing to launch their third single, “Run Devil Run“, and a 30-second audio teaser was revealed today. Although fans are a little disappointed that it’s not a new track, (as it’s once again a remake of their Korean original), they’re highly anticipative of Shoujo Jidai’s upcoming PV.

Ayumi Hamasaki gave fans a delightful Christmas present on December 22nd with the release of her 12th studio album, “Love songs“. The pop queen must’ve deemed that the album wasn’t enough, as she made a surprise announcement of an acapella track being made available through Avex-based shop, ‘mu-mo‘.
The online shop, which has the entire album available for about 200 ¥ ($2 USD) per track, will also feature an acapella version of Ayu’s “Love Song“. With the music removed, fans can hear their idol’s strong vocals and personal flair. 浜崎あゆみ/Love song （mu-mo限定アカペラver.） Video Credit; avax channel
mu-mo has also geared up for the singer’s countdown live, “Ayumi Hamasaki Countdown Live 2010-2011 A ~do it again~“, by providing a variety of concert goods for sale. Additionally, they’ve got a number of exclusive remixes and variations of songs from over the years, including an acapella of Ayu’s popular song, “Who…“.
Singer/songwriter YUI has announced that her first release for 2011 will be a double-A side called “It’s My Life/Your Heaven“. The new single will come out officially on January 26th, and boasts two new tracks from the artist.
“Your Heaven” was made as a part of the ‘Play You‘ Sony Walkman campaign, which sent YUI to Sweden in order to find inspiration for a song based around the themes, ‘place’ and ’sound’.
The single will also be available early on December 15th via Chaku-Uta cell downloads for fans to enjoy.
To celebrate Avex idol group TOKYO GIRLS’ STYLE first anniversary as a group, they’ll release a new single on February 9th called “Love like candy floss.”
The song is actually a cover of an old SweetS track. It was a song that TOKYO GIRLS’ STYLE used to practice before their debut as they always looked at the older Avex idol group as role models.
The “Love like candy floss” single will contain a coupling track as well and will be released in 4 different versions; DVD first press limited edition jacket A, DVD first press limited edition jacket B, CD+DVD jacket C, and a CD regular jacket D. Jacket A will feature a DVD with documentary footage and live performances, jacket B will come with a film of “Otekake Maybe” (should be around 30 minutes in length), jacket C will come with the title track’s music video and making of feature.

The nominees for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards have been announced, and B'z member Tak Matsumoto (49) is on the list. His collaborative album with American guitarist Larry Carlton, titled "Take Your Pick," is one of the five works nominated for Best Pop Instrumental Album.
